OKINAWA MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY (An University in the Martial Arts world) Okinawa Martial Arts Academy popularly known as the OMAA was formed in the year 1977 in Hyderabad by S.Srinivasan a young graduate (B.A Economics) from the Madras University. The Okinawa Martial Arts Academy (O.M.A.A) is the first Martial Arts University with its International Training Headquarters at Hyderabad, India and Affiliated Centers all over the Globe.

  As a pioneer of Karate in India, the Okinawa Martial Arts Academy was formed in the year 1977. Within a few decades of its inception, the O.M.A.A has become the largest and the most popular Martial Arts Institution by attracting more than 1000 Affiliated Centres all over India and abroad. OMAA is a registered member of Karate India Organisation (KIO) which is recognized by the World Karate Federation and the WKF is recongnised by the International Olympic Committee.

The O.M.A.A is the first of its kind that brings all Instructors under one roof to ensure proper co-ordination amongst different karate schools and to develop a feeling of fraternity and friendship amongst various karate Instructors.

INTERNATIONAL BRANCHES: The OMAA has affiliated Centres in BAHRAIN, OMAN, SRILANKA, NEW ZEALAND, ZIMBABWE, U.K and U.S.A Achievement: We are proud to say that we have reached the milestone of 10,000 Black Belts in our Academy in the early 2025.

BENEFITS OF AFFILIATION
NO ROYALTY


We do not collect royalty from the Affiliated Centres. As such, the Affiliated Karate centres need not have to pay any fees which they collect from their students monthly for training.


ADVANCED TRAINING


The Official Instructors Training Programes / Camps are being conducted at our Headquarters at regular intervals. Affiliated Instructors are invited for their advanced training in Karate and Oriental Weapons.


BLACK BELT GRADATION


After completing the official training program, the Instructors who are due for their higher grading examinations can undergo black belt test. Successful Instructors are awarded Belts and Certificates by the Grand Master.


INSTRUCTOR’S PASS BOOK


The Instructors of Affiliated Centres are issued with the “Instructor’s Authority Passbooks” qualifying them to act as Instructors of O.M.A.A. The passbooks also hold the record of Instructor’s gradation, which is valid for one full year and can be renewed along with the affiliation.


EXAMINER’S AUTHORITY


The Senior Black Belt Instructors are given the authority to conduct grading examinations for their students. O.M.A.A also send Examiners from the Headquarters to the affiliated centres on request.


KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS


O.M.A.A holds Karate championships at State, National and International levels. Only Instructors and students from affiliated centres holding the identity cards and certificates are eligible for participation.


JUDGES AND REFEREES SEMINARS


We conduct Judges and Referees courses during the National Event. The black belt instructors are being trained to become judges and referees for Karate Championships. The Judges and Referees Seminars are conducted every year a day prior to the National Championship.
